Introduction
Geological exploration is an extremely important part of the work of mining companies. It is this function that leads to the discovery of new deposits that, because of their location, resources, and market needs, can be critical to the operation of the company and the supply of critical metals and raw materials to the market. Geological exploration consists of several basic tasks that face a team looking for new deposits. Included are such tasks as understanding the structures that are located in the region, sampling, geophysical surveys and more. To learn these techniques, the report’s creator spent a few days in the north of Sweden, where he learned how to conduct field surveys and what standards to adhere to in order to collect data and analyze it properly. This report, will describe the events of this trip and the thinking behind the decisions made by the report’s author and the team he was on.
